This diary will hopefully provide an insight into the lives of some of the homeless, often neglected, stray/abandoned cats and dogs that we come across on a regular basis.

I want to try to tell their story, as all too often, these poor strays are overlooked, their suffering ignored…treated with such indifference. It’s important that we acknowledge their lives, and their struggle to survive…

I’ll also try to include some of the ‘ups’ and ‘downs’ of our many resident rescued cats and dogs – the "Furry Greek Gang"
Also our foster furries - those we care for until forever homes can be found.

I'll update as often as possible - Please bear with me as I sometimes struggle to find the time...

8th June - 2015

This is the first time I've been able to edit this diary since losing our dear daughter, Kerry Ann. We are still struggling to adjust to life without her; she meant the world to us ... we miss her more than words can ever say...

I have created a tribute website in her memory...

http://kerry.hyland.muchloved.com

Through overwhelming grief, life has somehow continued for us and our furry family. We've rescued quite a few more furry friends in need over the last few months too.

Although I won't be continuing with a new rescue diary for the time being, I will be updating the rest of the website over the next few weeks and bringing 'Rescue Stories' up to date. It may take me a while but I will try to keep this site going...

Sadly we had to say goodbye to dear old lady 'Lizzie' dog. She lost her sight completely over time and started to become very confused and distressed. We didn't want this gentle old lady to continue to suffer so she was put to sleep in February 2015 and is now with our other dear angels, and I'm sure Kerry Ann is taking care of them all...

I'm unable to continue with this diary for the time being...
Our dear daughter passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at home on 1st March...

Byebye beautiful boys!  Tabby-Tom and Charlie-Chat are now starting new lives in Germany. All went well with their journey and they are now in foster care until they go to their forever homes. Miss you boys! Thank you so much to everyone who helped us to make this possible, well done all!

All is well! :)  Here's resident rescue furry friends, Jesamine (dog) snuggling up with Tianna (white kitty) and blind Livvie. It's not always this peaceful with our lot but its so nice to have some quiet moments...

Monday - 3rd February-2014

Vet visit for Lucy today, her eyes are healing well and you can tell she's feeling much better already. She was so good and coped really well with the journey. Well done lovely Lucy-Lou!

Matilda (aka Tilly the Gonk) is at the vets, she was spayed today. All went well but we are missing the lovely little lady!
Will be picking her up in the morning.

See you soon Tilly!

Tabby-Tom is well. He's finished his medication and everything is working as it should. He's on a wet food only diet for now, he has a very good appetite but is quite small for his age, will see how he develops over the next few weeks. All we have to do now is find him a lovely forever home! Will update on his progress...

Update on 'Lizzie'

Rescued back in November 2012. This sweet gentle old girl was found in a pitiful state; emaciated and close to collapse.
After much TLC she pulled through and is still with us...

Lizzie is much older than first thought, she's a Lady of leisure and spends most of her time snoozing on our bed now. She suffers from senility and has a weak heart but she's a tough old girl and keeps going, bless her...

Wednesday - 15th January - 2014
All went well for stray, Charlie chatty cat. He just needs medication for a couple of weeks.

Tabby-Tom has gone from strength to strength. It's great to see such a big improvement. He's been such a good little lad and coped amazingly well with everything. Well done Tom!

We said our goodbyes to these lovely little guys on Monday. They are now starting a new life in Germany. Well done to all who helped them on their way. Be good babies! xx

Our lovely Lucy-Lou has had surgery to remove both eyes. She has been blind since birth and had to endure much pain and discomfort from eye infections that did not respond to treatment. Hopefully now she will start to feel much better once she heals.
Lucy has been such a brave girl through it all.
Well done Lucy-Lou xx

Good news! Tabby-Tom is home from the vets, he's doing very well. He'll need antibiotics and cage rest for a while. Hopefully he will make a full recovery and we can find him a forever home. Will update on his progress...

Here's Charlie chatty cat (he always has so much to say) He's one of two strays that turned up at our house just before Christmas. Yes! he's still here! (so is the other one!)
He's at the vets today for neuter and check-up, he has a skin condition and will need further treatment.

Hope all goes well ... fingers crossed!

Quick update...

Max & Maisie went off to new homes abroad just before Christmas. We've had some lovely updates and photos :)
Many thanks to their new families and everyone who helped to make this possible.

Update on stray kitten, 'Tabby-Tom'  He's still doing well but has a slight problem passing faeces. Hopefully he will improve over the next couple of days. All being well we will be going to visit him on Thursday ... get well soon little Tabby-Tom!

Dinner time for stray bin kitties. This is where we found Tabby-Tom...

Our first two new year feline patients...

We found this poor little stray (about 3 months old) with a severe case of prolapsed colon, at the bins, he really was in a bad way...
We managed to catch him and took him to the local vet. His colon was pushed back and stitched back in place but it popped back out a few hours later. It was then a mad dash to a vet outside our area for further treatment and hospitalisation.
Latest update from the vet; he's done well over the weekend, we'll know more tomorrow ... everything crossed for this brave little fella...

Here's resident rescue cat 'Jemma' on cage rest, she has a leg infection but is doing very well and coping well with being confined. Good girl Jemma!

Here's Snowy, Flash and Dimple, the pups we rescued just before Christmas. They are back with us for a week or so, and all being well will be heading off to new homes abroad. Lucky pups!

Wednesday - 1st January - 2014

Here we go again ... hoping for a better year...

Wishing all our friends all the very best for 2014 xx

Remembering all our dear furry friends who are no longer with us... xx
