Four newborn puppies - abandoned and left to die...

On Friday 16.12.11 we found 4 tiny newborn puppies at our local rubbish bins.
We heard cries coming from a pile of partly burnt rubbish and noticed a rolled up carpet at the bottom of the pile.
These poor puppies had been rolled up in the carpet which had then been set alight. Thankfully the fire had gone out and all four puppies were still alive.
We rushed them home as they were all weak and cold. We warmed them up and began syringe/bottle feeding in the hope that they would pull through.

18.12.11 ~ Thankfully all 4 puppies are hanging on in there and being bottle fed every couple of hours.
There are 3 girls and 1 boy. We named them straight away in case any of them don't make it - Milly, Molly, Misty and Milo.
3 of them are doing really well but we are concerned about the smallest girl, Milly. She is underweight and struggles to latch on to the bottle, so is being syringe fed for the time being. She is fighting hard though so hopefully we can get her through the next few days...

Please keep everything crossed for these little ones, lots of positive vibes would be much appreciated.

We will update this page regularly to let you know how the little ones are doing...

23.12.11

So far, so good. All four puppies are still with us and are doing ok. Little Milly is now able to bottle feed, she is slowly gaining weight but is still very small compared to her brother and sisters. Hopefully she'll continue to thrive over the coming days.

24.12.11 - Sad update...

Dear little Milly has gone... She passed away in the early hours. She seemed fine at her last feed and when we checked her later on, she was sleeping peacefully. We found that she had passed when we went to give the pups their next feed...
We worried about little Milly from day one, she was so much smaller and weaker but we lived in hope...

Rest in peace little Milly...Sweet dreams xxxx

Molly, Misty & Milo are all feeding well and gaining weight. Misty has had an upset tummy for a few days but seems to be much better today. Molly's eyes have just started to open so it shouldn't be long before Misty and Milo's start to open too.
We're so pleased with their progress after all the hard work and sadness of losing little Milly...

30.12.11

All is well! Molly, Misty & Milo's eyes are now open so they are looking forward to 'seeing in' the new year!

Wishing you all a Happy New Year

11.01.12

Molly, Misty & Milo are coming up 4 weeks old and are just starting to wean. They are so big now!

23.01.12

The pups are all on solid food now - such a relief as between them they managed to guzzle their way through 20 tins of milk formula!
They are just over 5 weeks old now. So naughty but so cute!

16.02.12

All being well, Molly, Misty and Milo will be going to forever homes next month. We're making the most of the time we have left with them - we will miss them so much but they have the chance of a new life with families who are able to give them the attention they deserve - It's only right that we let them go...

 Adorable! - 9 weeks old...

07.03.12

We said our good-byes today. Molly, Misty and Milo are on their way to their new homes.
These puppies are very lucky as good homes are always so difficult to find - we're so pleased that they have the chance of a happy future.
For us though, it's bitter sweet. It's so hard when the time comes to let them go, especially when you've put your heart and soul into fighting to keep them alive in the early days. They will be much missed...

Be happy babies. Sending much love to you all xxx
