Rescue Stories - 2006 - 2011
Sick Stray Kitten - Lillia - Rescued December 2011
Another very sick kitten found huddled at the side of the road. Lillia was about 8 weeks old. She was malnourished and had a severe upper respiratory infection and eye infection. She needed a course of antibiotics and eye drops and responded well to treatment. She soon started to feel better and gained weight and strength. She continued to do well and made a full recovery. She is now happy, healthy and enjoying life with the rest of our furry family.
Abandoned Puppies - Molly, Milly, Misty, Milo - Rescued December 2011
We found these four newborn puppies rolled up in a burnt carpet beside rubbish bins. We heard a faint cry and managed to find them, we couldn't believe they were all still alive, they were all very weak. We took them home straight away and started syringe/bottle feeding. We were worried about the smallest puppy, Milly. She was so weak and tiny. Sadly she died in her sleep a few days later...
Thankfully the other three did very well over the following weeks/months. It was great to see them thrive and grow after the sadness of losing little Milly.
Abandoned Puppy - Buddy - Rescued November 2011
Little Buddy was about 8 weeks old when he was found wandering on the road. He was absolutely terrified when we rescued him but soon calmed down once he realised he was safe. He was very timid initially but gained confidence over time and was so affectionate and loved to be cuddled. Buddy was adopted a few weeks later and found a loving forever home.
Abandoned Puppy - Harvey - Rescued October 2011
Harvey was about 5-6 months old when he was abandoned on the road and hit by a car. Luckily he wasn't seriously injured, just bruised and sore for a few days. He was skinny but soon started to gain weight. He was treated for fleas and ticks and was soon feeling much better. He was such a happy friendly boy and he was soon adopted. Another happy ending.
Stray Kitten - Ellie - Rescued September 2011
We found Ellie (7-8 weeks old) scavenging for scraps of food around rubbish bins in the countryside, she was so thin, just skin and bone. Being feral, she was very scared but we soon caught her as she was so hungry. Over time we gained her trust and we were able to gently stroke her. She is still with us and is now part of our family. She is now a happy friendly cat and enjoys being fussed. It's great to see her so friendly, confident and healthy. She is very vocal, and always has a lot to say, such a character.
